Authorization Coordinator

Due to rapid growth, now hiring a full-time Authorization Coordinator at Care IV Home Health! This is a full-time career position based in our Corporate Office in Little Rock, Arkansas. Our Authorization Coordinator will be a key part of our Intake Team and their primary responsibility is to obtain all necessary authorizations prior to patients being admitted into Care IV's care and on an ongoing basis as needed to continue their care. This position reports directly to the Centralized Intake Manager. Excellent benefits and the pay is negotiable depending on experience.This is a full-time Monday through Friday position. General office hours are 8a-5p.

Duties & Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Verifies eligibility for all Medicare, Medicaid and Commercial Insurance patients
  • Determines authorization requirements for all incoming patients
  • Obtains authorizations for home health services for new patients
  • Tracks authorizations and obtains re-authorizations for existing patients as needed to continue their care
  • Communicates with intake team, Case Managers, and other field staff regarding authorization status, related date ranges, number of visits approved, etc.
  • Communicates patient status, as needed, to Insurance Case Managers
  • Reports any difficulties in obtaining authorizations to the Centralized Intake Manager
  • Provide clinical information and documentation in order to appeal denials as necessary
  • Other duties as assigned

Required experience:

  • Minimum 1 year of recent healthcare / medical office experience required
  • Experience with insurance verifications and prior authorizations strongly preferred
  • Ability to comprehend the home health delivery system and patient care authorizations process
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Computer skills in Microsoft office and ability to quickly and accurately learn customized software
  • Experience working in a home health office a big plus
